Overview

GEMKO Information Group, LLC has an immediate need for an Outside Sales Representative. The primary responsibility of this position is to consultatively sell technology services and product solutions to meet the needs of our customers. GEMKO’s solutions are aligned with industry leaders such as IBM, CISCO and Microsoft. This person will be responsible for growing the revenue base of assigned accounts in their territory as well as prospecting new opportunities with new customers and building effective relationships.

Responsibilities

Key Capabilities and Experience 

  • Primary job duty is to sell business hardware and applications software/solutions and related services to prospective and existing customers; inclusive of cold call, trade shows, and research activities.
  • Identifies, qualifies and closes new opportunities.
  • Manages accounts including the entire sales process from business development prospecting and specifications through contract negotiations, signing, and post-sales support.
  • Manager contact marketing database.
  • Maintain status updates and progress reports, updating team members on task and timeline
  • Manage sales through forecasting, account resource allocation, account strategy, and planning.
  • Develop solution proposals encompassing all aspects of the application.
  • Participate in the development, presentation and sales of a value proposition.
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual agreement to close the sale. Identify and develop strategic alignment with key third party influencers.
  • Maintain Knowledge of GEMKO’s full line of services and technology offerings.  

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in sales, preferably relating to the IT field
  • Associates Degree in a related field preferred
  • Flexibility to respond appropriately and professionally to multiple simultaneous demands in a dynamically changing environment
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Working knowledge of computer applications and/or capability to learn quickly
  • Equally effective working alone or in teams
  • Preference will be given to a candidate with experience in a Professional Services environment
  • Ambition, creativity and resourcefulness
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable working with senior-level executives (decision-makers)
  • Ability to strongly influence decision makers at C and VP levels
  • Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently, flexing work schedules to meet project plans Ability to use effective listening skills, communicate with clarity, build rapport quickly, and maintain an attitude that conveys respect, honesty, and resourcefulness
  • Strong grammar and written communication skills  

HOURS OF OPERATION:

  • Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Our summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday. 
  • The ability to work additional hours during busy season is critical, but the rest of the year, flexibility is key.
