Confidential Client Search - Family enterprise seeks a CFO to develop and lead a multi-disciplinary finance team and to be a business partner for a diverse set of companies across varying industries, implementing and executing the goals and strategies set forth by the family and its advisors. Reporting to the CEO and COO, and working closely with key family stakeholders, this role will provide overall direction of the financial operations of the family of companies, as well as establishing and maintaining relationships with lending institutions, investment advisors, insurance providers, and the financial community at large. Industry and operational segments include the following: construction and related equipment, owner-managed real estate, private aircraft, private foundation and a diverse investment portfolio. This opportunity is in Rochester, NY.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Work Flow Management
The CFO is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and efficiency of the enterprise-wide finance department. Directly supervises multiple employees, providing oversight to operational unit financial executives. The CFO carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Duties include recruiting, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The work environment is that of a typical executive office area. The position is primarily sedentary. There is occasionally lifting and/or carrying up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear; use hands to finger and handle items. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
