    We have a tremendous opportunity for a Paraprofessional to join our Tax team!  This role requires a solid command of MS Office Suite, strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a high-paced environment, effective communication skills, with a friendly and professional personality.  The main responsibility of this position is supporting the tax team in preparing simple tax filings, handling IRS correspondence, preparing presentation materials, and providing administrative support.

    Responsibilities

    Perform various tasks to assist the Tax team in being efficient in providing professional services for our clients. These tasks include but are not limited to the following:

     

    ·         Income tax e- filing, tracking and processing

    ·         Preparation of SS4 and ITIN applications

    ·         Preparation of simple 1040’s

    ·         Preparation of IRS correspondence

    ·         Meet with clients for intake of material or signing of paperwork

    ·         Follow up with clients to obtain missing information and signature forms

    ·         Prepare Power Point presentations and other materials required for tax seminar appearances

     

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum of an Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, or English
    • 3+ years experience in tax preparation
    • Excellent time management skills, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word
    • Computer proficiency and effectively applying technology tools in assigned areas
    • Exceptional customer service skills

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Recent experience working in public accounting
    • Proficiency in ProSystem FX tax software or similar
    • Self-starter with the ability to handle and manage multiple priorities
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Organizational and administrative skills and experience, positive disposition and attitude, advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Power Point. Tax preparation and Quick Books experience a plus.

     

    HOURS/LOCATION:

    • Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • Our summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday. 
    • The ability to work additional hours during busy season is critical, but the rest of the year, flexibility is key.
