    We are currently seeking an entry level Assistant Accountant to play a key role in Bonadio Group’s Albany office. This role requires the ability to continually learn and use new skills, and to work in a high-paced, changeable client-service environment.

    Responsibilities

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Responsible for overall successful completion of client engagements including but not limited to compilations, reviews, and tax compliance.

    • Focus on tax planning in an effort to minimize client tax and present ongoing tax savings opportunities to clients. 

    • Ability to prepare complex corporate, individual and partnership tax returns

    • Ability to research complex tax issues and develop resolutions

    • Assist client with budgeting and cash flow projections on an ongoing basis.

    • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.

    • Use appropriate resources and technology.

    • Deliver projects/engagements on time, within budget and to client's satisfaction.

    • Supervise and mentor junior staff inclusive of oversight on client engagements and providing evaluative feedback.

    • Preparing complex client correspondence including recommendations, technical issues, and responses to taxing authorities.

    • Ability to work independently on bookkeeping and account reconciliations both in the office and at client locations.

    • Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations.

    • Preparing quarterly tax filings.

    • Perform month end closings.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimal of Bachelors of Science in Accounting w/150 credit hours needed to qualify for CPA
    • CPA certification or progress towards completion
    • Computer proficiency and effectively applying technology tools in assigned areas
    • Specifically skilled in Microsoft Office suite
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Exceptional customer service skills
    • Ability to work outside of normal business hours at peak client service delivery times

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Seek involvement in professional and community organizations
    • Ability to develop and sustain business relationships for the purpose of increasing the firms client base
    • Experience in ProSystems FX
    • Prior bookkeeping experience inclusive of QuickBooks
    • Self-starter with the ability to handle and manage multiple priorities
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
    • Desire to work in the Syracuse area

     

    HOURS/LOCATION:

    • Office hours are 8am - 5pm (summer hours 8-am – 5:00pm M-Th; 8am – 12pm Fri) ability to work additional hours during peak work periods is critical.
