    Our government audit practice is currently seeking an InCharge to Senior Accountant to play a vital role in our Syracuse location.  As a Senior, you will be responsible for contributing to the successful completion of engagements while ensuring delivery is consistent with Partner and client expectations. This role allows you the ability to continually learn and use new skills, and to work in a high-paced, changeable client-service environment.


    • Delivering quality client service (internal staff/external clients) and value while establishing and maintaining strong client relationships. 
    • Provide deliverables in a timely and accurate fashion within budget that meet client’s satisfaction.
    • Building a vision for the firm's long-term success and inspiring others toward that vision.
    • Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
    • Recognize the opportunity for providing new and innovative services and demonstrates the ability to pursue such opportunities
    • Provide mentoring and leadership to junior staff
    • Participate in, and thoroughly document, the final review/evaluation process with staff
    • Seek involvement in professional and community organizations
    • Develop and sustain business relationships for the purpose of increasing the firms client base



    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
    • Current CPA designation or significant progress towards certification
    • OMB A-133 audit experience
    • Recent experience working in public accounting
    • Computer proficiency and effectively applying technology tools in assigned areas
    • Specifically skilled in Microsoft Office suite
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, i.e. client presentations, industry articles, etc.
    • Ability to work outside of normal business hours at peak client service delivery times
    • Must have reliable transportation with the ability to travel to client sites and other office locations



    • Ability to create and properly monitor engagement budgets
    • 2+ years of governmental accounting / auditing experience
    • Current knowledge of GASBs
    • Skilled at preparing complex client correspondence including recommendations, technical issues and proposals
    • Ability to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities with clients
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
    • Ability to respond to common inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
    • Experience in ProSystems Engagement
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills



    • Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • Our summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday. 
    • The ability to work additional hours during busy season is critical, but the rest of the year, flexibility is key.
