Overview

The Senior Manager - Managing Security Consultant is required to have advanced skills that demonstrate proficiency with performing cybersecurity, information technology, and data privacy customer service and information assurance engagements.  As a member of the FoxPointe Solutions information risk management team, the Senior Manager - Managing Security Consultant will be working directly with clients' IT departments and will perform similar functions as a conventional CIO/CISO. Those duties include but are not limited to, formulating strategic IT goals, planning the IT budget, analyzing and reworking business processes, adherence to information security related rules and regulations, the development of policies and procedures, and facilitating technology changes.

Responsibilities

  • The ability to link IT systems to business objectives
  • A knowledge of technology trends likely to impact the customer
  • A firm grasp of IT project planning and management
  • Experience in the IT budgeting process
  • Development of information technology/security operating procedures
  • Development of information technology/security policies
  • Familiarity with state federal information security rules and regulations such as NY SHIELD, NYS DFS Cybersecurity Regulation, HIPAA, and so forth.
  • Assess and prepare meaningful and well-written recommendations for inclusion in client correspondence.
  • Competently supervises routine and complex engagements from start to finish
  • Work independently as needed on client projects in and out of the office.
  • Develop positive working relationships with clients.
  • Consistently meets chargeable hour goal each fiscal year.
  • Mentors and supports the professional development of others.
  • Seeks to obtain additional industry certifications as well as maintain existing certifications.
  • Remains up to date on current technological events and is able to determine the impact on a client's business.
  • Develops proposal/engagement letters for new or existing clients.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours at peak client service delivery times
  • Strong managerial, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or relevant majors/minors or commensurate experience.
  • Certification in one or more of the following; Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC),  PCI QSA or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
  • Current knowledge of security technologies
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in an information technology/information security managerial role
  • Solid understanding of risk management and information security principles
  • Management of staff/team members either directly or on various projects
  • Security design, architecture and implementation experience
  • Cybersecurity, data security, privacy Regulatory Compliance management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite         

Additional desired qualifications that will ensure success within the role

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience working on information security/risk management projects for major organizations
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications

 

HOURS/LOCATION:

  • Full time, remote position
  • Periodic travel to customer locations may be required
